CONNOISSEUR: The Cohiba Novedosos Premiere

On August 27, 2026, CONNOISSEUR members gathered at Cohiba Atmosphere in Moscow for the Russian premiere of Cohiba Novedosos. The evening formed part of the international programme marking Cohiba’s 60th anniversary and brought the club together around one of the most anticipated releases in the world of Habanos.

Russia’s only Cohiba Atmosphere lounge joined La Casa del Habano retailers across the country for the national premiere. Guests were introduced to Cohiba Novedosos in the Robustos No. 2 format, measuring 156 millimetres with a ring gauge of 50.

For CONNOISSEUR, attending the premiere was an important occasion. The club aims to take part in events that shape contemporary cigar culture, while the name Cohiba brings together history, prestige and the highest expectations of aficionados.

The invitation from Cohiba Atmosphere offered more than an opportunity to discover a new vitola: it also reflected the club’s recognition among experienced connoisseurs and professionals in the industry.

Cohiba Novedosos was first announced in February 2019 at the XXI Festival del Habano in Havana. Its global sales launch followed that September in the courtyard gardens of Madrid’s Costume Museum, where the release was presented to the international Habanos community.

Novedosos became the first Cohiba vitola created specifically for La Casa del Habano retailers, Habanos Specialist stores and Cohiba Atmosphere lounges. This positioning underlined the release’s special status and its connection with key spaces in cigar culture.

The Spanish word Novedosos means ‘new’ or ‘novel’. It captures the character of the release: a new format within a legendary brand and a fresh reason to revisit the history and continuing development of Cohiba.

The evening placed CONNOISSEUR members at the heart of an important Habanos occasion, giving them the chance to discover the premiere cigar and share their impressions within the club.
