Cigars Bring Cities Together

On August 17, our fellow club member Yulia Mironova, while holidaying in southern Russia, visited Lermont’s Cigar Club in Pyatigorsk and joined a gathering of aficionados from different cities across the country.

That evening, the club hosted a tasting of a craft Nicaraguan cigar presented by Vyacheslav Kirsanov, who works with cigar factories in Estelí, one of Nicaragua’s principal centres of cigar production.

Around one table sat guests from Moscow, Murmansk, Chelyabinsk, Krasnodar and Pyatigorsk.

According to Yulia, the cigar displayed a characteristic Nicaraguan profile and left a pleasant impression. Yet the greatest value of the evening lay in meeting and talking with people from different cities who share an interest in cigar culture.

Meetings like this show just how broad, yet close-knit, the cigar community can be: the cities and venues may change, but the common language remains.
